Who can sell an aircraft on CollectAirs?

Owners, operators, collectors and brokers are all welcome. Brokers need to show the owner's authorization along with the aircraft's papers.

Is there a cost to list my aircraft?

No. Creating a listing is completely free, and so is every part of the process, the appraisal, the photography and the promotion. We only charge a fee if the aircraft actually sells.

What documents do I need to provide?

Normally: proof of ownership, maintenance records, airworthiness papers, engine and propeller status, logbooks and operating history. Our full documentation checklist below walks through it item by item, and our team helps you gather anything missing.

Do I have to set a reserve price?

No, a reserve is optional. If you set one, it's the minimum you're willing to accept and it stays hidden from bidders throughout the auction. Without a reserve, the highest bid at closing wins.

What happens if my aircraft doesn't sell?

If bidding doesn't reach your reserve, or the auction closes without any bids, the aircraft is simply not sold, you owe nothing, and it can be relisted in a future auction.

How long does an auction run?

Most auctions run 7 to 14 days. The exact length depends on the aircraft type and the interest it draws while listed.

What's the success fee, and when is it paid?

The total success fee is 10% of the sale price, split evenly: 5% is invoiced to you as the seller, 5% to the buyer. It's only charged at closing, and only if the aircraft sells, buyer fees are currently waived until the end of 2026.

Do aircraft need to be airworthy to list?

No. You can list an aircraft that isn't currently airworthy, as long as its condition and status are described accurately and can be verified.

Is CollectAirs involved in the actual transfer?

We introduce buyer and seller and give both sides a clear, structured process to follow, including guidance on using an escrow service for funds and documents, but the legal sale and the payment happen directly between you and the buyer.

Free, and open to owners, operators, collectors and authorized brokers. Send your ownership and maintenance papers and we check they are complete. You set the reserve, and it stays hidden from bidders.

Step 2

Free Photography & Appraisal

We come to the aircraft and shoot the photos and video ourselves, at no cost to you, nothing to prepare, nothing to send. An outside certified appraiser inspects its condition, history and papers, which is what lets buyers bid sight-unseen.

Step 3

Go Live

Your aircraft goes in front of buyers, collectors and operators worldwide. We introduce you to the winning bidder and stay with both sides through closing, a 5% success fee applies only if it sells.

Submitting, appraising, photographing and promoting your listing costs you nothing upfront. If, and only if, your aircraft sells, we invoice a 5% success fee on the sale price at closing.
